The 2026 FIFA World Cup Final between Spain and Argentina was a tense contest. Both teams remained scoreless throughout regular time, keeping the crowd on edge. Just when penalties seemed inevitable, Spain scored the winning goal in extra time, claiming a dramatic 1-0 victory and becoming World Cup champions.





As the match progressed, Bui Vien became almost impossible to walk through. Restaurants, bars, and clubs all set up giant outdoor screens, allowing hundreds of people to watch the final together. Even venues normally focused on nightlife turned their attention to the match, creating the feeling of one enormous open-air football stadium.


What impressed me most was the international atmosphere. Travelers from around the world gathered in one place, sharing cheers, tension, and celebration regardless of nationality. Combined with Bui Vien’s neon lights, cold beer, and energetic nightlife, it became one of the most unforgettable World Cup experiences I have ever witnessed.




If I happen to be in Vietnam during the next FIFA World Cup Final, I will definitely return to Bui Vien. For backpackers and football fans visiting Ho Chi Minh City, this is undoubtedly the best place to experience the world’s biggest sporting event.

Before kickoff, the streets were already full of excitement. Groups of foreign visitors, many of them appearing to be from the UK and other European countries, gathered outside the bars. Some were singing, waving flags, and cheering for their team before the match even began. Almost every bar and restaurant had large screens showing the game.
